Hieronymus Bosch
He typically does his art in a way that depicts tensions of the times by illustrating his obsession in the portrayal of the sins of men and his vision of the punishments and consequences of such actions. In his work The Garden of Earthly Delights, he depicts hell in his own unique manner where he portrays mankind being tempted by excessive behaviors. Bird-like creatures that devour sinners into a pitch black pit to which they are condemned to suffer and serve the dark lord are just some of the nightmare-like visions of the artist that can be seen throughout most of his work.
