Biography

Born on the 12th of November 1840 in Paris, France, Auguste Rodin started his education at age 14 when he entered the Petite Escole a known decorative arts school in Paris. After repeated failure in his attempts to get accepted at the renowned Escole des Beaux-Arts he resorted to creating decorative stonework to earn a living. The death of his sister, Marie caused the artist so much despair that he entered a sacred order where his talents were taken notice by the father superior. The said leader encouraged the lamenting artist to pursue his art which was deemed of good quality and wasting his talent by grieving would be a waste of such great a talent and skill.
